Research Interests

Throughout my undergraduate career at the University of Missouri, I have been involved in various sectors of research. I am currently a senior pursuing a B.S. in Biological Sciences and a minor in Theatre. I began my undergraduate research in the Chemistry department during my freshman year working with Dr. Steven Keller solving crystal structures of various compounds. Although I really enjoyed my work in this department, I wanted to pursue involvement in an area closer to my main interests.

I began working in the Eggert lab in May 2010. Since starting, I have developed a strong interest in the relationship between genetics and ecology. I am working on an independent project studying the host-parasite relationship between ticks and raccoons. I am also investigating the possibility of multiple paternity in tick populations. After graduation in May 2011, I will apply to attend medical school and would like to specialize in Pediatrics.
